1. Make sure to eat breakfast. Breakfast kick starts your metabolism. You’ll eat less throughout the remainder of the day.

2. Eat a high-protein snack an hour or two before the main meal, it will help suppress your appetite.

3. There are no magic pills, potions or quick fixes that will ever replace a naturally healthy lifestyle, combining a good diet and exercise.

4. Try to stick to your regular exercise routine as much as possible. Especially during the holidays, plan your physical activity routine in advance. Mark your calendar and consider it as important as any other appointment or commitment.

5. Carry a toothbrush or a tongue scraper with you, and brush your teeth after meals. This will help you avoid nibbling between meals.

6. Nutritious snacks are part of a healthy eating plan.

7. It is easy to overindulge during the holidays. Make sure to watch portion sizes and select one or two of your favorites from the host of tempting foods.

8. Keep Moving! Get in the holiday spirit by dancing to holiday music with friends and family.

9. Do not set out holiday treats around your house. Remove the temptation, and take control of your eating environment.

10. Holidays are often quite busy and stressful. Don’t forget to take time to put your feet up, relax and enjoy!
